As the titles implies, this trio by Kurt Garner, Professor of Percussion ant Kansas State University, was inspired by the late musical legend, Frank Zappa, whose most intricate rhythmic designs often ended with extremely simple motives. This piece features one such motive followed by a series of variations performed primarily on three snare drums, with enhancements supplied by suspended cymbal and low tom or bass drum. The duration is 2:30.
