Specially designed for the advanced clarinetist, the V12 reed is made of thicker wood, recommended for longer facing mouthpieces such as the Vandoren 5RV. By comparison, there is approximately a half strength difference between the Traditional reed and the V12 (a V12 strength 4 reed equates to a Traditional reed strength 3-1/2).
