This delightful Grainger fanfare, entitled the Duke of Marlboro was originally written in 1939. The English folk tune is based on a melody sung by Mr. Henry Burstow and is also utilized as a countermelody in the first movement of Lincolnshire Posey. This Hunsberger edition, a warm addition to the DHWL is faithful to Grainger's intent. It offers a variety of performance opportunities, serving as either an augmented brass ensemble fanfare or as one portion in a collage of shorter Grainger selections.
