Author Maynard Solomon has been a three-time winner of the ASCAP-Deems Taylor Award, a visiting professor at Columbia, Harvard and Yale, on the graduate faculty of Juilliard, and a scholarly adviser to the Beethoven Archive in Bonn. The revised edition of his classic biography includes new information unearthed in recent years, and also revised information from sources recently discredited.
