A Christmas Carol
This little gem has been around since 1986, but it has remained a delightful and easily produced 40 min Christmas musical that doesn't seem to go out of style. My favorite part about this version is the accessibility of the music to my youngest singers (2nd graders) even up through 8th grade. The variety of music styles has opened up teaching opportunities about musical styles even beyond the performance venue. This will be my 4th time of "recycling" this musical in my 25 years of teaching. It lends itself to a variety of creative production ideas... add in whatever you want for simple or complex choreography, costuming and/or scenery. This year my JH students are creating the backdrops and scenery as well as participating in the performance. It's very easy to do, especially with the performance/accompaniment CD.
